NEW!! SmartMusic NEW!! Subscription costs now included as part of D155 student fees!!
This year we will be continuing to use the music practice software called SmartMusic for all of the band students in District 155 Bands. This software allows students to complete band assignments at home (or school) with virtual accompaniment software. SmartMusic is also now available as a free app for your iPad! Beginning in the fall, students will be able to complete their SmartMusic assignments on desktops, laptops, or iPads. Your subscription will now allow you to install the software on as many devices as you like! Best part? Your District 155 Student Fee is now covering the cost of your SmartMusic subscription! You will still need to purchase a special SmartMusic microphone if you plan on using the program with a desktop or laptop. The iPad version uses the iPad's built-in microphone. More information can be found on the SmartMusic Tab.
For all of our drum majors, section leaders, and band staff we will have an organizational meeting before camp begins. The plan is to talk for a few hours, have pizzas delivered for lunch, and organize for Monday! This little social will take place on SATURDAY, August 10th from 10-2.
Band Buddies (Juniors & Seniors ONLY)
We will continue our “Band Buddy” program for next year and we need your help! We would like to match you up with a freshman who you could be a “buddy” to for the year. You would talk to this person, maybe take them to lunch with you, and answer questions about band or high school for them. We have some great new activities planned for Band Buddies as well! This is a great way for them to meet more people in the band and for you to help institute your awesome Tiger Pride! If you are interested, please click the appropriate box on that section of your student information form.
NEW!! Parent Volunteers NEW!!
Parents, we have many opportunities for you to take an active role to support the Tiger Band Program! From chaperoning to transportation to cutting cake, you can help make our program a success. This year, we are using a new website called Volunteerspot to help organize our parent volunteers. Just click the link to sign-up to help! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at school or by e-mail. Thank you and we look forward to working with all of you during the course of the year.
Performance Policy
All performances with the CLC Band are required. Every student in the ensemble plays a significant role in our total musical experience. All absences must be cleared AT LEAST 1 month ahead of the performance date with the director. By communicating conflicts well in advance, we can work out all problems!
Next year’s band will be a continuation of the success we have already had. We will continue to build on established traditions, raise our musical standards, refine our discipline, and be open to new ideas. With hard work, effort, and dedication, WE WILL HAVE SUCCESS!
Reminder: All Registration Forms must be completed online by Friday, May 24th!
