Mr. Keith Levin, Director of Bands

Mr. Levin is currently in his 14th year as Director of Bands at Crystal Lake Central High School where he directs 2 concert bands, percussion ensemble, jazz band, pep band, pit orchestra, and the Marching Tiger Band.  In addition, he teaches courses in Guitar, Music Theory and Appreciation.   Mr. Levin graduated Bronze Tablet (with Honors) from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 1998.  He completed his Masters of Music Education degree from Vandercook College of Music in Chicago in 2003 and, in 2006, earned a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Educational Leadership and Administration from National-Louis University.  Mr. Levin is an avid clarinet player and maintains a private studio.  Many of his clarinet students earn top positions in regional and state music ensembles.

Mrs. Megan Smith, Colorguard

Mrs. Smith is in her 5th year of teaching at CLC in the Family and Consumer Science Department.  She has lots of experience in theatrical productions where she has costumed hundreds of shows.  Prior to teaching, Mrs. Smith worked for years in the fashion industry.

Mr. Anthony Houston, Drumline

Mr. Houston joins our staff this year as Drumline Instructor.  He graduated in 2010 with a degree in Music Education from the University of Dayton (Ohio) where performed with their drumline! He has also coached many other high school drumlines of various sizes.

Mr. Lane Parsons, Drumline Assistant

CLC graduate Lane Parsons joins our staff to assist with the drumline.  Currently a student at NIU in percussion performance, Lane brings a wealth of talent and knowlege to our staff.
