Keith Levin, Director of Bands

Mr. Levin is currently in his 11th year as Director of Bands at Crystal Lake Central High School where he directs 2 concert bands, percussion ensemble, jazz band, pep band, pit orchestra, and the Marching Tiger Band.  In addition, he teaches courses in Music Theory and Appreciation.   Mr. Levin graduated Bronze Tablet (with Honors) from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 1998.  He completed his Masters of Music Education degree from Vandercook College of Music in Chicago in 2003 and, in 2006, earned a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Educational Leadership and Administration from National-Louis University.  Mr. Levin is an avid clarinet player and maintains a private studio.  Many of his clarinet students earn top positions in regional and state music ensembles including the prestigious Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra.

Megan Smith, Colorguard

Mrs. Smith is in her 2nd year of teaching at CLC in the Family and Consumer Science Department.  She has lots of experience in theatrical productions where she has costumed hundreds of shows.  Prior to teaching, Mrs. Smith worked for years in the fashion industry.

Mr. Dale Hallerberg, Drumline

Mr. Hallerberg joins our staff this year as our drumline instructor.  He comes to us most recently from Barrington HS where he worked with their line for the past several years.  Mr. Hallerberg has experience playing and working with the Cavaliers Drum & Bugle Corps along with the Marching Illini.  By day, Mr. Hallerberg works as an engineer.
