Band Festivals (Still being finalized)
This year the Tiger Band is returning to the marching event at McHenry HS!   The McHenry Marching Band Festival will take place on Saturday, September 11th.  Time is TBA, but should be in the afternoon.  After our performance, the band will receive a 30 minute clinic with a marching band professional to help us improve for the rest of the season.

This year we will NOT be participating in the Oswego HS Panther Marching Review. This event will allow us to see other area bands, show what we can do, and receive feedback from clinicians. This REQUIRED event will take place on Thursday, October 7th. Buses will leave soon after school.  This is also our Homecoming week, so that is why we are not participating this year.  Look for us to return in 2011!

NIU Band Day that will take place on Saturday, October 23rd in DeKalb's Huskie Stadium.  At this event the NIU Huskie Marching Band shares the field with thousands of HS band members for a halftime show at one of their football games.  More info to follow...

Section Leader & Band Staff Meeting
For all of our drum majors, section leaders, and band staff we will have an organizational meeting before camp begins. The plan is to talk for a few hours, have pizzas delivered for lunch, and organize for Wednesday! This little social will take place on TUESDAY, August 10th from 10-2. Please bring $3 to help defray pizza costs and I’ll bring the pop. Please RSVP on your student information form.

Band Buddies (Juniors & Seniors ONLY)
We will continue our “Band Buddy” program for next year and we need your help! We would like to match you up with a freshman who you could be a “buddy” to for the year. You would talk to this person, maybe take them to lunch with you, and answer questions about band or high school for them. We have some great new activities planned for Band Buddies as well! This is a great way for them to meet more people in the band and for you to help institute your awesome Tiger Pride! If you are interested, please complete that section on your student information form.

Parent Volunteers
Parents, we have many opportunities for you to take an active role to support the Tiger Band Program!  From chaperoning to transportation to cutting cake, you can help make our program a success. Just fill out the Parent Volunteer Form and return it to CLC by May 14th.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at school or by e-mail. Thank you and we look forward to working with all of you during the course of the year.

Performance Policy
All performances with the CLC Band are required. Every student in the ensemble plays a significant role in our total musical experience. All absences must be cleared AT LEAST 1 month ahead of the performance date with the director. By communicating conflicts well in advance, we can work out all problems!

Next year’s band will be a continuation of the success we have already had. We will continue to build on established traditions, raise our musical standards, refine our discipline, and be open to new ideas. With hard work, effort, and dedication, WE WILL HAVE SUCCESS!

Reminder: All Forms are due back to Mr. Levin at CLC by Wednesday, May 19th!
